FAQ

Here you will find more specific information about some aspects of the Festival. If you have any questions that aren't here, don't hesitate to contact us!

How many lessons will I have?

Each student will get 5 individual lessons and will participate as active in one of the masterclasses.

Can I see other lessons as an observer? 

Active and non-active participantes will have access to individual lessons as observers.

How long are the lessons? 

Individual lessons are 60 minutes, maester classes are 2 hours, with each students participation being 40 minutes.

Who will be my teacher? 

The festival is organized in a way that each student will have interaction with 6 of the 7 professors. In case one of the students already takes lessons with on of the teachers, the festival will try to arrange the schedule so they will not take lessons with that person.

What do I have to present as audition? 

You must send two contrasting pieces via YouTube link, there is no time limit for either of them.

When is the deadline for the audition and registration fee?

September 15. The link will be provided by the end of August.

What does it mean to be on a "waiting list"?

It means that your audition was very good, but that other pianists that applied placed higher. If there are any cancellations, you will have the chance to enter the course. Either way, since you already payed the registration fee, you will be allowed to come to the Festival as a non-active participant.

What is the schedule of the Festival?

The course is a week-long piano intensive. Individual lessons will be given between 9 and 12 am, and master classes in the afternoon. There will be two student recitals at 5 pm and a faculty recital at 7 pm. The student recitals will be held at EAFIT and the faculty recital at the Otraparte Auditorium.

Students are expected to have availability every day of that week. In case of any inconvenience, this must be communicated to the course organizers to determine if there is a possibility of making special accommodations.
